Its been five years since Men in Black 3 closed out the trilogy. Now, we have word another one is in works.
According to Deadline, Sony Pictures has given the greenlight on a spinoff to the popular film franchise.
There’s even a May 17, 2019 release date for the untitled film, as well as a script by Holloway & Art Marcum, the writers of Iron Man and Transformers: The Last Knight.
Steven Spielberg will also executive produce, though a director has not been named.
Details are sparse, but actors Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones aren’t expected to reprise their roles in the Men in Black spinoff. But, it will take place in the world of the original three films.
Instead, the new film will focus on new characters.
