Kevin Garnett is expected to announce his retirement, after 21 seasons in the NBA, reports the Star Tribune.
The 40-year-old had one year remaining on his contract with the Timberwolves, worth $8 million.
KG came into the league in 1995, chosen by the T-Wolves with the fifth overall pick in the draft, straight outta high school. He became the face of the franchise, and led the team to eight straight playoff appearances, until he joined the Boston Celtics in July 2007, via a trade… and won his first and only championship.
Garnett was eventually traded to the Brooklyn Nets, and then, back to Minnesota in February 2015.
