Controversial pharmaceutical executive Martin Shkreli is in the headlines again. This time over his unreleased Wu-Tang Clan project, Once Upon a Time in Shaolin.
Back in 2015, he purchased the one-of-one collector’s item for more than $2 million, and has since shared some snippets online.
On Wednesday (Feb. 15), Shkreli took to social media to promote an event in NYC, which he billed as an album listening session for the Wu album, as well as a lecture about investing, health care and politics.
An Eventbrite listing said Shkreli’s event would take place at New York City’s Webster Hall on Feb. 20. However, shortly after the announcement, he claimed the venue had canceled the presentation after receiving threats.
It's sad that a couple of threats can cancel a 500 person event people wanted to go to…
It’s unclear if the event will take place at another venue. Tickets, which range from $15 to $50, are still on sale, but the location has been removed from the listing.
