With production on Marvel’s Luke Cage Season 2 having started already, Blackfilm.com has come to learn that actor Thomas Q. Jones will be back on the Netflix series, reprising his role as Comanche.
Jones appeared in flashbacks in Season 1 where Comanche and Shades Alvarez (played by Theo Rossi) are inmates at Seagate Prison who serve as Albert Rackham’s enforcers.
By the end of the first season, Shades, now out of prison, was helping Mariah Dillard into running the criminal underworld through Harlem’s Paradise.
Jones was seen in a recent set photo with Rossi in which actress Lucy Liu will be directing the first episode of Season 2. Expect mayhem to occur with Shades and Comanche now on the outside and ready to cause more problems for Luke cage.
Jones is a former NFL player who spent twelve seasons with the New York Jets, Chicago Bears and Kansas City Chiefs. He is among the top 25 leading rushers in NFL history. He will next be seen in Matthew Cherry’s 9 Rides, which was recently picked up for distribution by Gravitas Ventures And Flourishing Films.
Luke Cage Season 2 premieres in 2018. It executive produced by Cheo Hodari Coker and Aïda Croal as co-executive producer, along with Jeph Loeb (Marvel’s Punisher, Marvel’s Inhumans), and Jim Chory (Marvel’s Punisher, Marvel’s Inhumans).
